I am a retired Computational Research Linguist from a U.S. Naval laboratory in Washington, DC. I earned a Ph.D. from New York University and taught English composition and linguistics on the college level in Philadelphia (my hometown); Miami; Utica, NY; and New York City. I was active in theatre, having performed on stage in Miami and New York City, and on television. I was the showrunner for a cable access drama, The Victor, honored with an AFI award for a TV dramatic production. I also created a cable access television show, Inside/Outside the Beltway, known as “the soap opera with a lavender twist” (click on title to link to YouTube). It won a GLAAD award for Best Dramatic Series in 1995.
